The Midnight Snail

The Midnight Snail is a small dance party usually held in a park in North Seattle. There's no admission fee, no profit or other ulterior motive at play: this party exists because the people behind it like to dance and hang out with each other. We're never going to try to monetize this or use it as part of some other project or scheme. We're not cool and we don't know how to dance and we do it anyway.

We are majority trans, some of us are furries, most of us are neurodivergent. Many of us are middle-aged queers. This is an all ages event, but no childcare is available onsite.

This is mostly a dance party, but there's space to sit off to the side, hang out and do whatever craft or other small activity you brought with you - people have brought chess and mahjong sets, their knitting, etc.

It's a chill time. Feel free to bring whatever substance helps you unwind a little, but this really isn't a party where people get seriously drunk or high. We've been lucky enough, so far, to never have attracted any attention from hostile neighbors or authorities. It's a dance party but it's not that loud.

Logistics:

Drinks are provided (free) and sometimes people bring snacks.
There are public bathrooms at our usual location.
We have a big picnic table and sometimes blankets for some people to sit down, but sometimes those fill up. Bring a camp chair if you want to be sure of having a place to sit.
We usually start around 6 or 7pm and wrap up around 10 or 11.
The usual location is about a 15 minute walk from light rail.
